Metallica Magnetizes Guitar Heroes

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

James, Lars and Co. are going to release their new album Death Magnetic simultaneously in record stores and as downloadable content in Guitar Hero 3. The album will later be available for Guitar Hero: World Tour. Word on the street they may have an Unforgiven 3. You can’t release an Unforgiven and have it not be a classic. (And since St. Anger was a throwaway album that Metallica needs to redeem themselves for anyway.)

The track listing on the Muse pack will be:

Guitar Hero III ranked #5 in most searched terms on wikipedia

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

guitar hero 3I use Wikipedia. You use Wikipedia. We all use Wikipedia. But just what are we looking for, exactly? Nerd crap, it seems, with a list of November’s most-searched items turning up a ton of game titles. Guitar Hero III came it at #5, while Halo 3 also did OK, coming in at #11. OK, not OK, impressive, because they’ve been searched for more times than “Sex”, “World War II”, “Europe” and…”Penis”. Impressive or sad. Either/or. Making the list further down were WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 (#32), Wii (36), PlayStation 3 (39), Xbox 360 (41), Rock Band (60), BioShock (62), Pokémon (65), List of Wii games (83) and at #89, right after “Mexico”, is Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

guitar hero III halo theme

To celebrate Thanksgiving, Activision, Neversoft and Bungie will release tomorrow the Halo Theme (Mjolnir Mix) for free.

In celebration of Thanksgiving, Microsoft and Activision will be providing Xbox 360 owners with a free downloadable Guitar Hero III song pack featuring the MJOLNIR remix of the Halo theme.

Slated to arrive on Xbox Live Marketplace on Thursday, November 22, the song was written, composed, and performed by Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori, and has Steve Vai on the guitars.

“It’s a real pleasure to hear one of the best loved and most iconic themes from Bungie’s Halo Universe in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock,” noted O’Donnell.
